Since NCTS5 went live with Transitional rules on 28 June 2024 and Final State Rules on 21 January 2025, HMRC has been providing ongoing support to assist customers. DEFRA issued information as of 10 March 2025 confirming that Foot and Mouth disease has been reported in Hungary.   The Hungarian Chief Veterinary Officer confirmed on 7 March 2025 that Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) had been detected in a dairy herd in the Gyor area of Hungary, close to the Slovakian border. Both Hungary and Slovakia have, therefore, lost their FMD-free status.
